Elaine Jung has cultivated a fascinating and dynamic career in international journalism.
She started in Perth as a video journalist covering varied stories and presenting for WIN News, then moved to Berlin to report on entrepreneurship. She then spent 10 years at BBC World in London – from breaking news at the desk and on-location to documentaries and other long-form content.
She has worked in challenging global locations such as Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Greenland, and was regularly deployed to create impactful content across TV, radio, digital and online for the BBC’s UK and international platforms and foreign language services.
At the BBC World Service’s Innovative Story-making team, Elaine was responsible for ‘outside the square’ approaches to storytelling. She helped journalists from any of the 40 language units tell their stories to a global audience.
After living and travelling abroad for 13 years, she has recently moved back to Perth, where it all began, and is now a valued member of the Communication & Media Manoeuvres team.
