Simon Mossman – Media Advisor/Executive Trainer
Simon brings his extensive experience as a frontline news reporter to the role of a Media Manoeuvres executive media trainer and communications adviser, having worked across print, broadcast and digital mediums in Australia and the UK.
Simon began his career working for the Mercury Press Agency in Liverpool, UK, before moving into newspapers and covering a variety of ‘rounds’ including local politics, crime and courts.
After a subsequent reporting role with another national press agency, South West News, which services the Fleet Street newspapers, regional UK and international media, Simon moved into independent television news, gaining valuable experience in front of and behind the camera as a senior reporter, video-journalist and producer.
Simon moved into global television news services including London-based Sky News (BSkyB), ITN and Reuters Television.
Simon brings valuable experience and insights in advising and guiding organisations in the new and complex social media environment.
In Australia, Simon worked for the national news service AAP followed by Reuters covering major news events including the World Economic Forum riots in Melbourne.
He later moved into news production at the Nine Network before returning to AAP, where assignments again included major news events such as the Black Saturday fires disaster.
As a media and communications consultant, Simon has advised and trained senior executives on media engagement across issues-rich sectors.
