Sam Elam
Sam Elam started her career by founding a niche magazine publishing company producing six national titles. Moving into the communications consultancy environment, Sam then spent eight years in management and senior consulting.
During this time, she advised many of Australia's major corporations on corporate and product media, brand management and communications strategies. Sam also gained worldwide recognition as an expert in corporate issues and crisis management.
Noticing a lack of comprehensive communications training programs available in Australia, Sam then founded Media Manoeuvres (now Communication & Media Manoeuvres). Alongside our trusted Executive Trainers and Advisors, she provides specialist strategic communications training and coaching for leaders in high-stakes situations nation-wide.
Sam also works closely with Principals, Board Chairs and senior leadership teams of independent schools across Australia, to plan for and manage incidents. The issues and crises she has directly handled span a wide range, including inappropriate staff, teacher and student behaviour, bullying, student injuries, school management issues, negative social media commentary, and image-based abuse.
Sam has won numerous industry awards, is a keynote speaker, a Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and a member of the Melbourne Press Club.
Sam is also an officially accredited workplace trainer and a Bates Executive Presence assessor.
