Dean Allen-Craig

Senior Trainer · Video Producer & Former Journalist

Dean Allen-Craig is an executive trainer, broadcast journalist, writer, video producer, and TV presenter with over 30 years' experience in television and radio.

Dean started his journalism career as a TV sports reporter in Ballarat, then moved to Ten News in Melbourne where he covered a wide range of stories including major criminal trials, industrial disputes, bushfires and floods. It was at Ten News Dean developed his skills in interviewing, script writing and broadcast voice production.

Dean then took up a post as newsreader and reporter on a Melbourne radio station. The combination of delivering drive-time news on the hour and conducting interviews in a fast-paced radio production environment was an invaluable training ground for broadcast journalism.

He was then asked to join the Seven News team in Melbourne where he went on to work for the next 15 years. As a senior journalist and crime reporter, he covered the nation's biggest stories and natural disasters that still resonate today.

For the past decade Dean has worked as a media and communication skills trainer and behind the camera as a video producer for senior executives, government spokespeople and not-for-profit leaders. He is a trusted advisor on media-ready messaging, handling tough questions, voice and body language, and on-camera presentation.

As an experienced video journalist, TV and radio presenter and video producer with extensive corporate and government communications experience, Dean offers unique insights into the challenging world of executive and media communications.

Dean's incredible breadth of experience and warm personality make him a valued member of the Communication & Media Manoeuvres' training team.
